Our service
When we are called in to your premises to do an inspection, we will compile an equipment register (or update an existing one if you already have one). This lists all items of electrical equipment that are to be tested. It includes all appliances that can be plugged into power sockets as well as extension leads and any removable leads such as IEC leads. The equipment register records the type of equipment, serial number, its location and the frequency of testing. A unique number is used to identify the appliance in the register.

Note that we do not charge you twice for appliances that have removeable leads, even though we need to test the lead seperately. You pay for one appliance when we test an appliance and its associated lead. Some testing companies charge for two appliances so you can end up paying substantially more!

The frequency of testing initially depends on the type of equipment and the environment in which it is used. Over time we may adjust the frequency depending on the occurence of faults.

The tests consist of formal visual inspections and combined inspection and electrical tests. These are performed in accordance with 'The IEE Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment'.
